This is a French Art Deco period Walnut wall clock. This is a 8 day Westminster chime clock that chimes the quarters,halfs and hours with a really pleasant chime. On the 12 o'clock it does the full Westminster chime and then strikes the number of hours. The case has general wear and tear due to age and use mainly surface marks. The main wear is shown in the pictures. The clock measures. Height-ins. Width-18.5ins. Depth-6.75ins. The clock is a nice example of an Art Deco Westminster chime wall clock. Beautiful Slate & Marble Victorian mantle clock, circa .This Corinthian cased clock is very attractive, with easy to read undamaged white & gold dial, surrounded by five variegated marble inserts & gold etched scroll work. The crossed arrow engraved " Hac" American movement is pendulum driven, chiming the half hour & hour on a melodious sounding gong. Above which stands this attractive Roman numeral ceramic dial, flanked by two young standing figures dressed in period vintage costumes. Local Poole clock, Art deco, Westminster Chime, lovely condition requiring attention. Mantle Clock with hourly / quarter hourly Westminster Chime, Roman numerals. Chime or silent modes hairspring mechanism. Manufacturer: Not known, probably German, marked 'PATENT No OTHER PATENTS PENDING, FOREIGN'. Original seller: COLE, Watchmaker and silversmith, 81, High Street, Poole'. Approximate date / year of manufacture: C's – ’s. Country of origin: Not known, probably Germany. History: Label on door shows original seller. There are two dates on the underside of the clock: and which are probably service dates. Exterior: MINT. Case, chrome bezel, hands, face all good. Mechanism: Mechanism in good condition but requires attention, possibly tight spot in going train, Hairspring escapement is good. Probably a straight forward fix, unable to repair myself due to other commitments. Does not have original key but I can supply a new after market key for £3. A lovely clock with a visible history. One of my collection of over fifty clocks of varying quality and condition, all to be sold due to down sizing. Collection only please from Broadstone, near Poole.
