ANTIQUE MARCONI R WW2 RADIO AND AMPLIFIER
This Marconi R receiver was used by my father, who was a shipboard radio operator during World War 2. He was a petty officer on a Royal Navy destroyer. My dad bought this transceiver from the Navy when he was demobbed. The R is a conventional supersonic-heterodyne type receiver (superhet) which uses thermionic valves. The listing shows photos of the inside, showing the valves from various different angles and also shots of what I believe to be an amplifier that my dad built for it (he built several amplifiers during his life). These photos show the cables that came with the radio - including the power input - which would enable someone who knew what they were doing to put it into working order. Kindly note that this radio has only ever been owned by the Navy and by my dad. It has not been tinkered with or modified by people who did not know what they were doing. My dad knew a lot about electronics and taught electronics after the war. Interested parties are welcome to come and see it at my home. Please message me if you would like more photos or information.. Read More
