ANTIQUE MARCONI R WW2 RADIO AND AMPLIFIER

This Marconi R receiver was used by my father, who was a shipboard radio operator during World War 2. He was a petty officer on a Royal Navy destroyer. My dad bought this transceiver from the Navy when he was demobbed. The R is a conventional supersonic-heterodyne type receiver (superhet) which uses thermionic valves. The listing shows photos of the inside, showing the valves from various different angles and also shots of what I believe to be an amplifier that my dad built for it (he built several amplifiers during his life). These photos show the cables that came with the radio - including the power input - which would enable someone who knew what they were doing to put it into working order. Kindly note that this radio has only ever been owned by the Navy and by my dad. It has not been tinkered with or modified by people who did not know what they were doing. Marconi CR100 Communications Radio Receiver

Vintage 11 valve short wave receiver covering frequency range 60 Kc/s to 30 Mc/s in six bands. With BFO for amateur SSB / CW reception. Made around s/40s. Light grey front panel in black metal cabinet. No rust. This receiver is working, but will probably needs some time spending on it to restore it to it's full original performance. It is difficult to ascertain it's true sensitivity due to strong local interference - it would need a screened cable to an external aerial to work poperly here. This set measures 15" square and 12" high and is VERY heavy - so collection only please. This radio receiver has been in our family for at least 50 years but have to reluctantly sell now due to space problems now after building works.
