E. van Giffen, was director of the Biologisch-Archaeologisch Instituut in Groningen, and is famous for his archaeological studies, especially in the Northern Netherlands.The atlas consists of two parts. The first part consists of a complete inventory of all dolmens in The Netherlands with 116 illustrations. Often on the left illustration a photo of the discussed dolmen next to a detailed drawing based on the scale of the length, width and position of all separate stones. All these drawings give a special specific image of the dolmen in The Netherlands in . Illustrations with overview maps and supplements. The second part in this binding (illustrations ) contains additionally detailed information about some specific dolmen. Several photos, height lines, findings, profiles. For this there are often several illustrations per dolmen used.In good condition.This concerns a former library copy. Of this, there are still signs in the book (see photos), like stamps and safety strips. The linen binding has stains, is discoloured and has wear on the corners and the spine. On the top front a water stain. The book block is sturdy in the binding. The flyleaves have foxing, the illustrations themselves hardly to not at all. The larger fold-out illustrations have a tear here and there in the margins, not in the depictions themselves.
