Pygmy hedgehogs
I am a Club approved APH breeder located in Glasgow. My hedgehogs are fed a high quality diet composed of a blend of cat biscuits, live insects, various cooked meats, egg, and fruit and veg. They live in four foot by 2 foot vivariums (the majority of them also have access to a free roaming area), on a bedding of fleece or finacard, with 12" exercise wheels and lots of toys. The hogs are handled daily by me and my little army of hedgehog tamers. Whilst the hogs all have different personalities I have been very lucky in that they are all pretty tame and have made excellent pets. My hedgehogs are all Club registered and the hoglets will be too. The colours in my little group include leucistic, snowflake, pinto, reverse pinto, split face, grey, dark grey, cinnamon, cinnacot, chocolate and brown. I have recently imported some lovely hogs from the Czech Republic in order to bring more genetic diversity into my lines. I am happy to sell to pet homes or ethical breeders; I will not sell to pet shops or pet traders. Hoglets are sold under contract and will be registered as 'pet only' unless a breeding agreement is reached. I will be very attached to these babies and it is important to me that they go to homes where they will be kept in the style that they are accustomed to:o). If you are thinking of becoming a new owner it is important to do as much research as possible prior to buying, as these are exotic pets and have specific husbandry needs that must be adhered to if they are to live happy and healthy lives. The more you put into these little guys the more you will be rewarded! I would not want to sell to someone who intended to keep the hoglet in a living space any smaller than a zoo zone 2 (most 'medium' size vivariums are too small, as are the medium pink coloured zoo zones). I will be charging £150 for these babies, £50 of which will be a non-refundable deposit payable to hold your baby. Included in the price will be a generous care pack, health guarantee against WHS, and a lifetime of advice and support. Hoglets will be ready to go to their new homes at around seven to eight weeks old, as long as they have reached around 150 g in weight. I am open to the use of reputable pet couriers, and I may also in some instances be able to travel part-route to meet you with your hoget as long as my rail fare is reimbursed.
