Gunter rigged motor boat. Length 25 ft, beam 8ft 9in, draft 2ft 9in. Sleeps 5. Large inventory. One double berth, one single berth, doors to separate forward cabin containing two children’s berth’s. Hull clinker planked in wych elm with oak ribs, oak keel, deadwood and stem apron. Thought to have been built by Suttons in Great Wakering in . Cast iron external keel likely to weigh 6-8 hundredweight (kg). Mahogany wheelhouse with marine windscreen wipers, glazed with toughened glass, mahogany topsides with six opening portholes. Wheelhouse stored off boat. Top deck recanvased and new Douglas fir handrails fitted. New doors to main cabin. Tempest Captain Engine 1.5 BMC diesel with PRM reduction gearbox and Morse controls fitted in about 400 to 500 hours running (engine out of boat). Various engine spares including filters, gaskets, injector pipes and drive belts. Marine alternator with split charging to two batteries (no batteries). Marine grade stainless steel propeller shaft with water-lubricated cutlass bearing, Norris Industries bronze 3 blade propeller, bronze stern tube and bronze internal rigid stuffing box. Engine instrumentation and log. Galley with stainless steel sink. Demountable dining/chart table, converts to double berth full cabin lighting. Potable water: 10 gallon plastic tank interlinked to a purpose made and hull shaped fibre glass tank (gel coat on the inside) with inspection cover approx. capacity 25 gallons. Hot water via a 10 gallon marine calorifier, electric pump giving hot and cold water in galley and in shower. Gunter rigged, mast spars and rigging stored off boat. Mast and spars stored and correctly supported in garage –straight mast. VHF mast aerial – no VHF set. At anchor all round white mast light, masthead deck working lights. Radar reflector, new mahogany mast tabernacle base. Traditional mahogany and brass ships wheel and Bowden cable steerage, manual steering tiller, helmsman’s seat. Houdini Marine forward hatch with new mahogany surround. Cockpit cover and fitted winter laying up canvas tarpaulins. Depth sounder, bunks in good condition although one with small tear. Two horseshoe life belts, buoyancy aids and a nearly new child’s lifejacket. Two Seagull outboards, one for a tender, the second a Seagull Silver Century used as an auxiliary engine. This boat has been laid up since , initially in a wet berth in Essex saltings and from ashore in Epping. Reason a house build that took too long and now age has overtaken going boating again. Three owners from new; owner one to , owner two, my father, to to present my ownership. This boat has been extensively used in the past on the coastal waters of the East Coast. It also has been up the Thames into Oxfordshire from the sea. The price of the boat is what the inventory of the vessel would fetch at a boat jumble.
