Up for sale or swaps is my brand new (more on that later!) PRS McCarty 594 Artist Package. For anyone who doesn't know already, the 594 is basically a double cut Les Paul - PRS' take on 'vintage sound with modern playability'. Received rave reviews on its release last year. Artist Grade maple top, hybrid hardware, Gaboon Ebony board, artist spec Paisley pattern hard case and Autumn Sky finish. The story goes - around a year ago I damaged my PRS SC58 and sent it back to PRS to be fixed. 5 months later I was informed that they were unable to fix the guitar so I would be built a new one from their current line-up with similar specs for the same (still considerable!) cost as the repair. The guitar has just arrived with me, and is one of the best guitars I've ever played or seen, however sound wise its similar to my R9. My intention was always to sell my SC58 and in recent times I've been aiming for quality over quantity with my guitars so I'm testing the water to see if I can get something different, rather than another Les Paul-ish guitar. This has come straight from PRS in Maryland to me, so 'newer' than most guitars you'll find hanging in a shop. Condition is a full , obviously! Cash welcome, or trade wise I'd be interested in a Fender Custom Shop or boutique builder Tele style guitar (single coils or P90's) in part exchange with some cash coming my way too. As far as I can find there are currently no comparable Artist Package double cut 594's for sale in the UK (there's one on Peach for £ but that's got a rosewood neck), and world guitars have a standard one (not even a 10-top let alone Artist!) for £. Seriously reduced as it's in my way. This is a gorgeous solid fireplace which is very unusual in design- similar design replicas cost thousands. I have had this valued and the valuer dated the fireplace mid/late 19th century however, I have been contacted by so called "keyboard experts" who tell me this is a replica. I'm a very honest person and have confidence in the valuation I sought. I have no desire to deceive anyone. In either case an original sells for £ and the nearest replica I have found close to this design is £. So it makes little difference to me its still a fantastic selling price. If its origin is of importance to you please feel welcome to come and view it and/or bring a valuer with you. Please note this fireplace is very heavy - it took 4 men to unload it and they struggled. The fireplace does need some tlc- there's paint along the edges were the previous owner painted the wall with the fireplace in situ. I would remove it and clean it up myself but I don't know what I am doing. The locking bolts at the rear have been replaced at some point. This lovely Paul Reed Smith Swamp Ash Special was made in the USA in and as far as I can see it's all original specifications. It has a beautifully carved swamp ash body which is very resonant with great sustain. The body has a turquoise finish and is in good overall condition for a 17 year old guitar. There are a few small chips on edges and one at the base of the back, just normal signs of wear. It has a 22 fret maple neck and board. There is a small rub on the first fret position, but all the frets are in good condition. It also has a PRS tremolo unit and PRS locking tuners. The neck and bridge pickups are genuine McCarty PAF style low output humbuckers, offering a nice clean silvery tone. The middle pickup is a Seymour Duncan vintage rails which gives all the quack you need for styles from country to classic rock. There is a coil tap via the tone control and a 3 way switch, giving you 6 initial tonal options. This is a superb quality high end guitar for a gigging musician or a fine piece in any collectors collection.
