16hh Welsh x Arab 6 year old mare

I’m reluctantly advertising my beautiful mare. She’s an approximately 16hh 6 year old Welsh cob x Arab chestnut mare with 4 white socks. Luna is the sweetest mare and is very easy to handle in and out of the stable. She takes her reassurance from her handler. She is nervous when taking rugs off so I have found by folding them forwards and reassuring her whilst you do this she’s fine. She’s getting better every time you do it. I have not clipped her yet, she is again fairly nervous but I have run the clippers over her whilst they were running and again she just needs reassurance. Luna will happily load into a trailer but she does get worried and can rush off although she does nothing nasty. When she came to me she travelled in a 3.5ton lorry and was fine. With time I’m sure she’d happily travel in a trailer. To ride she is a blank canvas. She’s green with her schooling and jumping. She will go in a lovely outline but needs someone that understands a sensitive and young horse. She is green with jumping but certainly has some scope and really enjoys it. I have taught her how to lunge and she will now happily lunge. She hacks out in company, she will have a look at things occasionally but with encouragement will happily walk on. She has started hacking on her own. I have walked her out alone in-hand and she has been fantastic. I am selling her as I feel she needs more than what I can give her. ‘Arla’ has been owned by me since a yearling. She is 3yrs old on . Her dam is a quality registered Welsh mare with Eppynt and Revel lines. Her sire is a 16hh appaloosa x TB stallion by the famous ‘Champagne Charlie’ and 'Amazing Blue' Arla has an amazing temperament, loves people and other horses. Not marish. Henrhyd Melanie (Mia) is 9 years old, 10 in April. We have owned her for 4 years and have used her as a lead rein. Very sweet little pony who is no trouble, hopefully the photos help show this. She will ride in company and out alone. I walk her in hand between odd rides. Although she is not in regular work at the moment, she is no trouble to just pop a rider on and head out. My daughter is no longer interested enough and so Mia is just wasted. She needs a new job to do. Mia was vaccinated on 31st January so is up to date. Worm count a few months ago was clear, wormed for tapeworm. She was last trimmed by the farrier on 24th February. She has a club saddle, bridle and all her other gear to go with her.

Very pretty palomino Welsh Section A mare Henrhyd Melanie (Mia), 11.2hh 8 year old lead rein pony who has potential to be first/show pony with a little schooling. We have owned Mia for the last two and a half years and she has been a brilliant lead rein pony for my daughter, who is now 6, but she has completely lost interest in riding Mia, hence for sale. Mia is a very sweet, friendly girl who loves to be groomed and enjoys being ridden. All last summer I rode out and led Mia to help keep her fit in between rides with my daughter. I also lead her out in hand and currently still do in between a handful of rides with my daughter either out hacking or in the paddock. Mia has been well behaved when my daughter has ridden her off the lead rein at walk doing cones etc. She has just had this years vaccination, is microchipped, has a Welsh Pony and Cob Society passport and is good with farrier. Mia will be sold with a Thorowgood Cub saddle and the rest of her tack, rugs (2 of which were new this winter) and all her other bits and bobs. Please no loans.
