DESCRIPTION Here is a stunning antique Victorian secretaire bookcase. Beautiful flame mahogany finish. Bookcase to the top. Double doors open to reveal adjustable height shelving. Inside the desk there is a small door cupboard, pigeon holes and a selection of drawers. Below is a double cupboard with one shelf. DIMENSIONS Height 89" width 48" depth 21" Top lifts off the base for moving. CONDITION The condition of this is good-fair overall but there are a few things that do need to be mentioned. One button handle from one of the small drawers inside is missing. There is small piece of veneer missing from the top of the cornice. Door and drawer keys missing. Really gorgeous piece that I have owned for over 40 years but have reluctantly decided to sell following a recent house move as it no longer fits in my new home. I have used it to as a bookcase and desk in the past but for the past several years I have used it to show crystalware. It splits into two sections for ease of transport - the lower leg section is separate from the top. The doors to the top are in the original leaded glass and there are four shelves inside. The middle section folds out as a desk and inside are lots of compartments and drawers that holds masses. Below this section are three large drawers. The wood has a gorgeous patina - it is a beautiful piece that looks wonderful in any room setting. A very reluctant sale. In excellent condition. The legendary Danish light designer Poul Hennigsen created a timeless master piece with the Louis Poulsen pendulum lamp PH 5 that is one of the most famous design lamps in the world.
