FOR SALE - 5* HOME ONLY! Derbyshire. 16HH 12 year old chestnut thoroughbred gelding (raced until he was 7). Due to lack of time, Player is seeking a new home. I have owned him since July and have been concentrating on his flatwork and have taken him to a handful of dressage competitions. He needs an experienced rider and someone who can offer consistent, regular work which I am not able to. Works in an excellent outline and can leg yield, rein back and other basic dressage moves. I have come to the hard decision to sell my best friend. Harley is 11 year old, 16.1hh chestnut thoroughbred gelding. We have owned him for the past 5 years where he was brought as a project. He is a fast learner and has been to a couple of local shows both show jumping and cross country. However due to myself going back into education he has only been hacked for the past year. He hacks both in company and on his own. Prefers to take the lead when in company. Harley is good with the farrier, dentist, no stable vices. Snaffle mouth. Gets on with both mares and geldings. Up to date with vaccinations, worming, teeth and feet. Lives in or out and is a good doer considering he is a thoroughbred. Harley has lovely sable manners and is very affectionate, would stand for hours being cuddled, groomed and pampered. He equally can be turned out for days and would still love you. Harley is a dream to own, easy to look after and will fit around your lifestyle. Harley does not have a nasty bone in his body he is very forgiving. Harley is not a novice ride, he needs to be sold to an experienced rider who has preferably dealt with thoroughbreds before. He is not a horse you can bully and needs a quiet confident rider. Harley is visually confident but is sensitive to sound. For example when hacking if he sees a tractor, bus etc he is fine. However is he hears something behind him and cannot see it he tends to panic. By panic he does not rear or buck but shoot forward. We are selling our TB gelding he is 15 and the perfect gent, he doesn't act in anyway like a TB he is easy to catch, good for the farrier, loads nicely as we take him for lessons once a week in our trailer. He lives with other ponies and donkeys. He is ideal for a novice as he can be a bit lazy if not pushed on so a more experienced rider might make him more forward going. My au pair rides him and she is a complete beginner. He hacks out alone as we don't have another horse. He has been hunting and can pop a log.
