Victorian dome top wood/brass bound travel trunk/chest, storage

This is a lovely old Victorian travel trunk. It has a dome or barrel shape top and is bound with wood and brass. The wood has a brown leather covering. The trunk is in good solid vintage condition and would make a great storage chest. The inside has the original striped paper lining, which is quite tatty and could be replaced. The lid needs an adjustment as it doesn't quite fit into the locks, although this doesn't stop it from closing. 2 castors are missing but, as the remaining 2 disappear into the base when on the floor it still stands on the level. it measures 60 cm wide by 48 cm high, and weighs 10 kilos. Antique Victorian Iron Bound Oak Silver Chest Trunk VERY VERY LARGE AND HEAVY Vintage This is a stunning very very large and very very heavy 19th century Victorian Solid Oak Silver Chest Trunk which makes a fabulous Storage Chest Coffee Table. Has a multitude of metal straps, two handles at each end (you certainly need them) and three locks, I do not have keys. I have sympathetically restored this VERY VERY LARGE trunk and is now clean, sturdy and ready to use. I have cleaned and highly polished with wax the exterior of the trunk. The inside has been fully cleaned and is now very clean and solid. As you can see from the large pictures the trunk has had a new floor fitted as the original one was a bit rotten. I cant emphasise enough how large and heavy this trunk is, it’s the largest trunk I have ever owned or seen. Please remember this trunk is old and shows knocks and marks and a bit of rot which you would expect from a trunk which has had a very long working life, this is all part of it’s rustic charm. A beautiful and functional piece of furniture with great character. Would suit both a period or contemporary home. A C19th Stained Pine & Iron Bound Silver Chest Trunk Storage Box Coffee Table A C19th stained pine and iron bound silver chest or trunk, but could no be used as a great storage box, coffee table or kids toy box. The chest is formed with it being made from stained pine which has a great colour and wear to it. The chest is then bound to the edges with large painted iron mounts. It also has two lock plates on the front. On either side it would have had two chunky carrying handles, one is now missing. Opening the trunk it is lined in base to the edges and lid. The trunk has many new uses and would fit in any home easily. The trunk dates to around . Size Height ” Width 36” Depth 22” Condition The condition of the trunk is very good, it is missing one handle, missing main lock, and the trunk has scratches scuffs, marks and split to top and it has had some old woodworm on top which has all been treated again but very good commensurate to age, all giving it a good original look and character. Late Victorian Pine Glazed Dresser Features a two door glazed top with one shelf and working key... Two drawers and a two door cupboard below with shelf, No key.... Condition is pretty good throughout with no damage, Gouges or nasty stains...Some woodworm have had a gathering in the bottom cupboard (see pics) its old worm that was there back when i first purchased the dresser but she has been thoroughly treated inside and out for buyers piece of mind....The glass has a couple of marks but nothing that stands out and still polishes up beautifully....I think the locks top and bottom are original but i cannot say the same for the cup handles, i think they were a later addition but they do look fantastic..Sits on back square feet and front turned bun feet....Overall condition is good... It has the wheels on the bottom to make moving easier and has no woodworm or ever has had. Its 30"w x 19"D x 23"H and has been lined in period material.

This is a lovely very old trunk it measures 39" L x 22" W x 17" H it has 2 compartments inside plus a candle tray plus a small draw so plenty of room for storage. It has been sanded and waxed. On the back there is new strip of wood that's been put in about 1" wide which it lighter than the rest. This is a rustic old piece so has plenty of knocks and blemishes adding to the charm so if your looking for a pristine trunk this isn't for you. It has no signs of woodworm but has been treated anyway.
