10 year old TB 16'2 TB Gelding

10 year old 16'2 TB Gelding. We have owned Felix for just over a year and have come to the conclusion that he needs a home that has more time for him. He has come a long way since we brought him but needs more work and we just don't have the time. He schools beautifully the way he carries himself is delightful he has three lovely paces and has a lovely fluid movement, I could imagine him doing a very nice dressage test. We have never taken him out competing and apart from popping him over a little jump in our school he hasn't done any jumping since we have owned him so can't really comment on his jumping ability. We are definitely what you would call a happy hacking home so haven’t taken him to shows. He is best when ridden frequently although last weekend we rode for the first time in 3 months and hacked on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday he was excited and it took longer than usual to tack him up and as soon as my husbands bottom was in the saddle he was jogging up the road! He jogged around and was generally very excitable so we only did road work. On the Sunday he was like a totally different horse, stood quietly to be tacked up, easy to mount and was cool as a cucumber so we went out for a good 2 hours and had 3 canters and a gallop. It was very pleasant hack. My husband and I mainly hack together which Felix does prefer but he has hacked alone and if he did it more I am sure he would settle much more quickly. We hack down fairly busy roads and he is fine, he does very occasionally do excited little bucks, not in nasty 'I am going to throw you off way' just I am excited and I want to go. Where he needs the most work still is on the ground he has a nervous disposition and will need a patient owner who has time to gain his trust. He isn’t at all nasty and does have stable manners he just gets nervous. We clipped him this weekend and we do it in stages so it takes 2 days rather than a few hours. He will stand to be groomed for 20 minutes and then gets fidgety, he takes longer than you average horse to tack up, nothing at all nasty he just has trust issues. He loads fine in either a box or trailer but doesn't like travelling alone, we tend to load him last and then out first to try and keep his mood as calm as possible. He can't be left in a field by himself or left on the yard by himself. He is good for the farrier and has never been lame or had any health problems. Up to date with jabs. windsor 8 year old 15.2 bay gelding TB a sweet kind gent in

This is such a sad sale of my daughters horse and she is heart broken to see him go, but she must put her A levels first and she just doesn't have the time for him at the moment he's just sat in the field getting fat. We first brought windsor for my son two years ago and he has taken him out on many group rides and some hunting, where he was very well behaved in just a snaffle. Before we had him he had hunted for two seasons with the TSH but sadly he just was not enough of a challenge for our Son so we passed him on to our daughter who at the time had just got her confidence back ridding a steady cob. Windsor was kind enough to put up with nerves and has taken her from strength to strength, they have both learnt to do some small jumps and a bit of school work although they are both green in this area, he takes everything in his stride. I would say that windsor is a mother daughter share/or a lovely ladies hunter he has excellent stable manners a dream to clip/box/wash/lead/catch he will always come to you to see if you have any goodies in the field. LWVTB basis to ensure suitable pairing, this will need to be approx. 1hr radius of Leicestershire. Totally heart breaking decision due to being outgrown. He is good to shoe, box and trim. Never sick or sorry and no laminitis. Up to date with vet, injections, teeth and back. No lumps or bumps. Very handsome chap and is a proper showman. Truly happy little pony who really enjoys his work. He has done all PC activities with Atherstone (SJ, XC, Dressage, Musical Ride, Games – stirrup/vault, Camp, Showing) and has a very brave/bold jump (would easily affiliate). Quick to learn. He has been professionally produced over last summer and when ridden correctly will work in a lovely outline. Unfortunately my daughter did not ride him consistently. This resulted in Rocky taking charge or getting frustrated. He has never reared, bucked, refused or bolted with her, but he will go faster and faster around a course of jumps. This was totally due to my daughter inexperience and lack of commitment (phone and non-horsey peer group). With a more able and committed rider he will be a total superstar. Despite his sharpness, he is unflappable when out hacking both on roads and on tracks. He is happy to go first or last and has never hotted up. Due to my daughter still wanting to hack out I have held onto Rocky for longer. Over the years they have won a number of competitions, but as he advanced my daughter didn’t keep up.
