Persian Mir – 230 x 204 cm – "Wide, Vintage carpet in
This is a hand-knotted, Mir rug, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character. Mir rugs are knotted in the mountainous area in and around Arak, in western Iran. Characteristic for a Mir is the contemporary design called Boteh or Paisley pattern: a droplet shape with the tip pointing in one direction. A Mir often has a continuous pattern, but some have a medallion and corner patterns. Mir rugs are durable rugs, made of wool on a cotton warp (bobbin thread). They often are thick, full rugs with a particularly high durability. This is a used rug, which has become more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process.Size:Approx. 230 x 204 cm.Main colour:Cream.Accent colours:Brick-red, green and blue shades.Specifications: Special size.Signs of wear:The thickening of the bobbin thread is visible in a number of places; Fringe was cut off; Minor edge damage; Some stains.See the photos for your own assessment. This lot will be shipped registered with track & trace.X755 Read More
