This is a beautiful Bokhara carpet of excellent quality.the wool has a lovely sheen to it. There is no uneven ware and a nice, soft even knotting on wool. I don't know much about old carpets but my partner purchased this at great expense for a bedroom but I changed my mind as it was to big. The rug measures 12' x 9' or 144" x 108" or 366cm x 274cm All sizes are approximate. The shading you can see on pics is camera and the carpet sheen there are no marks or stains or damage. Very large, beautiful Grosvenor, finest worsted wool (100%) rug in the Persian Style. This one is an unsual size (having been made to a special order) at 19'6" by 12'. The design ref is . It was bought from a company called Grays Carpets (probably their Glasgow store) some time during the 's and has been in the same (non-smoking or dog) family since then. It is a beautiful rug and in very good condition. It is hard to photograph as the pile moves so easily that the daylight makes it look as though there are dark and light patches on it. There aren't, it is not faded in any way or does it have any dark patches, it's the limited skills of the photographer. However, given the age of the rug it is not suprising that there are small signs of wear in a couple of places together with one or two very small patches of slightly roughened pile where a kitten had scratched. All of this is almost impossible to see but the photos with close ups will give you some idea. The carpet has been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for a new home. Fabulous vintage wool rug 390 x 276 cm. It has a chartreuse/olive green background with central medallion and is decorated in russet, cream and black. In the right setting, the rug would set off a room nicely. In one corner there is a slight and clean rip but as the rug is so large, this can easily be concealed with furniture - or fixed easily. It is in used, vintage condition with the odd mark. However, this may come out with a shampoo. Due to size, collection only. It can be folded without causing creases or damage to fit into a large box which will go into the back seat of a standard car.
