Wanted - small older dog

I'm looking for a small older dog for my dad. He's retired - so the dog would have lots of company - but still active so they'd also have nice walks. He'd like an older dog - male or female - and not a puppy as it would be too much with the training etc. As his grandchildren are all older now there wouldn't be any babies or small children around but as both my sister and myself have two dogs each it would need to be dog friendly so we could all enjoy walks together. My dad has previously owned dogs but hasn't any pets now so the dog would get lots of love and attention and would be the centre of his world. I live close by so would also be walking the dog and if for any reason in the distant future circumstances changed the dog would still have a home with us or other family members. I have two yorkie crosses that my dad is very fond of so ideally he'd like something similar - he's wanting a family pet and wouldn't be using them for breeding purposes. They'd be company for each other and the dog would want for nothing. I've posted the advert as my dad doesn't have the Internet and if left to him he'd rehome every dog that came along!!!! Older Dog For Rehoming

We have taken the heartbreaking decision to rehome our dog. I have had him for 7 years, originally a rescue dog he was 6 months when I got him. He has been a lovely companion but unfortunately I have a toddler and one on the way & it is hard keeping my toddler and dog apart. My dog has not grown up as a puppy with my child & although they get on, it is not fair on my dog when my toddler is trying to jump all over him. With another child on the way I am going to have less time. He is used to being walked for an hour everyday. I will not lie, being a rescue dog he has got a few issues, he hates being on his own (has been used to coming most places with me) so he sometimes has to be crated if left for short period. He is good with other small dogs but wary of big dogs, especially Alsatians so will bark at them. Good with all children, just a bit old to be pulled around by younger children. So would suit an experienced dog owner who has a lot of time on their hands to be with him. His loveable qualities far outweigh his bad and he is a truly lovely dog, he would just like to be with somebody all day! If you would like any more information or to meet him, please get in touch. I am posting for my friend as she is finding this very hard, Due to no fault of her own cookie is looking for a new home, cookie is 9 years old and a Staffordshire bull terrier, cookie has always lived with cats but unfortunately has become a bit nippy with them and my friend has a few cats and is worried cookie may accidentally hurt one, cookie loves a cuddle and will sit on you all day if she could, unfortunately my friend has declined in health and has fell over cookie a few times. Cookie would suit a home with older children as she is still full of energy. if you could offer her a h9me she would reward u every day with love, affection and fun.
