A superb British made antique steamer trunk. Outstanding quality black painted metal with solid wood braces all round. A stunning original coppered interior. This is in completely original condition so has some dents and marks that all add to its character, full of life and history. Writing reads: H.F Tunbridge, c/o Miss D.Mason,501 New South Head RD,Double bay, Sydney,Australia. This could be used for storage (all catches and handles work),perhaps a blanket box at the foot of a bed. At the moment I have it stood on end and am using it as a lamp stand, endless possibilities. Hi I have for sale a lovely old Large vintage steamer trunk/chest The steamer trunk has been painted in a soft grey colour and has a lift out tray inside. The trunk does require new leather handles or you could use rope. There is slight bubbling on top and at the back please see pictures, but this does not effect the use of the trunk which is very solid and heavy piece of furniture. This wooden domed top dowry chest is covered with tin in a bronze colour and was bought from a flea market 25 years ago in Spain, the wooden slats have been replaced and lined the trunk with fabric, however the age of the chest is at least early 's. Old seamans dome trunk chest toy box in Cleckheaton

Old pine seamans dome trunk chest. It has been lined in a vintage material. The trunk is not as red as it looks in photos but does have a red colour to it. No key unfortunately. 30" x 19" x 22" tall would make a great toy box.
