Patent English-made for the Swedish armed forces.The steel blade is richly etched with floral motifs, a Crown with the number 2 and a skull with bones on the other side.The hilt is made of brass and has been fire gilded. The hilt hinges on the thumb side for more carrying comfort.The handle has ray skin with braided copper wire. On the blade the test mark Crown with a Z (Zapff Justinus around ) on the handle Crown with a B (Brossois A.N. around ). On the cage the numbers 56 and 14Cage has been restored by a company due to pitting. Blade is intact and is in very beautiful condition. Chilean cavalry sabre - Manufacture d'armes de

Click here to view this lot Good French made cavalry sabre of the Chilean army, decent patina, approximately 100cm overall length. Clearly visible proof marks and engraving date the sword to , just after the Chilean civil war and shortly before a series of military coups and civilian engagements. This sword does not have a scabbard, but originally would have had a steel scabbard with a single ring suspension.
