Click here to view this lot A beautiful and original Dutch Cavalry Sabre m , this is the edition of the troops and was also called "the long sabre n:3".This sabre was also used by the Royal artillery units and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.The interior of the sheath is lined with wood and is executed with a saddle ring. On the blade the test mark Crown with a Z (Zapff Justinus around ) on the handle Crown with a B (Brossois A.N. around ). On the cage the numbers 56 and 14Cage has been restored by a company due to pitting. Blade is intact and is in very beautiful condition. Patent English-made for the Swedish armed forces.The steel blade is richly etched with floral motifs, a Crown with the number 2 and a skull with bones on the other side.The hilt is made of brass and has been fire gilded. The hilt hinges on the thumb side for more carrying comfort.The handle has ray skin with braided copper wire. Clearly visible proof marks and engraving date the sword to , just after the Chilean civil war and shortly before a series of military coups and civilian engagements. Details about   17 Inch M MN Sabre Black Gp Saddle

17 inch black sabre saddle. Well made and in good condition for it's age. Slight scuff to cantle as seen in pictures. It was sold to me as a medium, but I would actually place it at a medium narrow. Gullet is 3.5 inches internally, it's 8 inches D to D. It was also sold as an event saddle but my legs were a bit long for the rolls so didn't suit me. All flocking is in good condition and it's a comfortable saddle to ride in. Selling as now too narrow for my mare. Paid £200 for it a couple of months ago, am open to offers. Happy for it to be posted or collected from near liskeard in Cornwall. If you would like more info or pictures please ask.
