Aiwa Excelia XK-007 - top quality audiophile 3-head cassette

I've recently upgraded to the top-of-the-range XK-009, so my XK-007 - which is the same except for the auto tape calibration system - is now available. 3-head, dual capstan, manual bias and recording level calibration system, Dolby B/C and HX Pro, DBX, 20Hz to 20kHz (Metal tape), incredible S/N 95dB with DBX, wow and flutter %, dimensions 430 x 135 x 420mm, weight 8.1kg. Received good reviews and has an incredibly detailed sound. Excellent cosmetic and working condition. The original belts were beginning to stretch so I replaced them a few months ago. Happy to demonstrate. Cash on collection.

Powers up, display light up ok, controls work correctly, drive motors run on FF and Rewind - tape capstan motors run too. When this was put into storage, it didn't always release from pause correctly, therefore the tape wouldn't run. I've hunted high and low for a cassette to test it with to no avail, so selling as needing service / repair. I'm happy for you to visit and test the unit yourself prior to purchase. Market price for one of these prestige decks looks to be around £400 when fully serviced. Asking £180, sold as seen. Collection or carriage at cost.
