Analog Man Prince Of Tone Guitar Boost, Overdrive & Distortion Pedal

A rare opportunity to buy this extremely high quality boutique overdrive, boost and distortion guitar pedal that is notoriously difficult to get hold of. The Prince Of Tone overdrive is one side of the famous King Of Tone, designed to take an amp at reasonable settings, and make it sound like it would sound if it were naturally driven to pure, smooth, tube distortion. It was fine tuned with a s Fender Deluxe Reverb amp to duplicate the sound when the amp is singing, but at lower volume settings - to simulate the natural tube amp distortion of preamp and power tubes. It does the same thing on other amps like Vox, Marshall, etc, making them sing in their own voice. It has an external Mode switch to select between Boost, Overdrive and Distortion modes. There is a Treble trimpot is inside, just like the King Of Tone and two DIP switches. DIP1: LO-MID lift switch. The tone from your lower strings will be enhanced a little. DIP2: TURBO switch- with higher gain settings you?ll hear deeper compression, especially in DIST mode. You will hear a brighter, crunchier sound with this on at higher DRIVE settings. The three modes are: 1) Normal Overdrive mode (OD mode): This is the standard King Of Tone sound, - a touch more drive available than a tube screamer. Can get much louder than a tube screamer. 2) CLEAN mode: This mode has less distortion, it can be used for clean boosts or clearer, louder sounds. It's sort of a cross between a true clean boost and an overdrive. CLEAN MODE is even less compressed and louder than the OD mode. 3) DISTORTION mode: more drive than the standard mode- a touch of hard distortion. The sound is more compressed, yet retains the pedal's character. Same volume as OD mode. At low DRIVE settings, or when playing softly, there is not much difference between the three modes, they all can get pretty clean and have the same level at low drive settings. The ability to clean up when playing softly is a very useful feature of this pedal. The pedal is in absolutely mint condition having had occasional light studio use only and never been gigged. The MB-2 Midboost / Fat Control is an onboard guitar midboost / buffer which includes a wide variable gain mid frequency power booster control and a built-in low impedance buffer. The Fat Control boosts a wide mid frequency range for a more distinct natural musical frequency boost than all other mid controls. The frequencies selected give your guitar the best response and sustain possible. I have three of these pedals, one on my pedal board, one for recording and this one for sale which was bought as a backup but I've never needed to use it. Only ever been tested and in mint condition. It requires an adapter which is included in the sale. This pedal really will make your single coil pickups sound like a humbucker and give you the fattest sounds, be it clean, overdrive or distortion! Save at least £60 on the price of a new one. The MB-2B Midboost / Fat Control used with a stratocaster (single coil) type pickup produces a sound very similar to the old Gibson P90 pickup. Used with humbucking type pickups, the sound is transformed into that of super humbucking pickups. The MB-2B Midboost / Fat Control produces the sound equivalent of adding feet of wire to your pickup, and at a turn of the knob the MB-2B Midboost / Fat Control will respond by adding any amount of midboost you desire. There is one control on the unit: Flat / Fat, plus a foot switch to bypass the effect, and an LED to indicate effect operation. Flat/fat affects the midboost / buffer which includes a wide variable gain mid-frequency power booster control and a built-in low impedance buffer.
