Nice little project cheap. The boat is sound and comes with mast rigging and sails. I took this boat as part exchange on another but I know very little about sailing. I was told that its a rare example as the top is made by Norman boats? You may know more than I. The insides are very basic and need a good clean and upholstery etc. Its missing a couple of hatch covers and the gelcoat has a few scuffs that may polish out. Its a very sturdy little bilge keeled example. I am told that the mast sails and rigging are worth more than Im asking for the lot. Credited with many successful long distance voyages and considerable success in the Round Isle of Wight and other races, the Contessa 26 has excellent sea-keeping qualities - a safe smaller cruiser for family sailing and capable of extended voyaging. There is an active Contessa 26 Association online. This is a lovely example, the hull and deck are still the original gel coat and never been painted. Below the waterline was epoxied some years ago for protection. Brand new tiller fitted this season and hatchboards completely refurbished.
