Here we have a Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special, 1x12 inch speaker, 30 watt all tube amp. It can also be stepped down to lower wattages for smaller venues or home use. Absolutely brilliant amp. I've gigged it and it's been solid and never let me down. The reverb unit, however, doesn't work. I have not looked into it as I never use verb on amps, but I've heard it could be an easy fix. Thirty Watts, bold and pure from all four power tubes punches through the mix and hangs with a band in mid-size venues. Fifteen watts cries the blues with sinful passion …coaxing expressive soul from an electron-soaked pair of EL-84’s. Both these circuits run Pure Class A in a Push-Pull configuration. But what really makes this Lone Star Special is its ability to switch down to five watts of single-ended power bliss (patent pending). This is not the lower powered Special version of the amp but is the full blown affair (W RMS) - previously (and sometimes still) referred to as the Classic.. This amp does everything a Fender Bassman would do, and much more.
