This is in completely original condition so has some dents and marks that all add to its character, full of life and history. African massive hand carved chest / trunk / camphor delivery

Hello I'm selling a African / oriental solid wood massive trunk / Camphor chest / box / travelling / mule trunk there are two handles on each side that are thick wood each handle is approximately 25cm long by 10cm wide & 4cms thick has a lift up lid which is between 3-4 cms thickness this chest has all over deep hand carved designs with the two long sides having a tribal village people, huts, trees scene there is a split in wood which is due to the way they used to be made & the age so I didn't repair / restore it so remains original for who ever buys it really is a massive statement piece, one of a kind piece height is 65 cms / 25.5 inches width / length is 142 cms / 56 inches depth is 59 cms / 23.3 inches really is massive would make great coffee table if you have the room this item is solid wood and very heavy collection from Doncaster will need a van or delivery available for extra fee please contact me with postcode for delivery price thankyou

Antique Victorian Iron Bound Oak Silver Chest Trunk VERY VERY LARGE AND HEAVY Vintage This is a stunning very very large and very very heavy 19th century Victorian Solid Oak Silver Chest Trunk which makes a fabulous Storage Chest Coffee Table. Has a multitude of metal straps, two handles at each end (you certainly need them) and three locks, I do not have keys. I have sympathetically restored this VERY VERY LARGE trunk and is now clean, sturdy and ready to use. I have cleaned and highly polished with wax the exterior of the trunk. The inside has been fully cleaned and is now very clean and solid. As you can see from the large pictures the trunk has had a new floor fitted as the original one was a bit rotten. I cant emphasise enough how large and heavy this trunk is, it’s the largest trunk I have ever owned or seen. Please remember this trunk is old and shows knocks and marks and a bit of rot which you would expect from a trunk which has had a very long working life, this is all part of it’s rustic charm. A beautiful and functional piece of furniture with great character. Would suit both a period or contemporary home. This is a very rare all steel trunk from the mid Victorian period and is in fantastic condition considering it’s age. Has a few knocks and scrapes but this all ads to the great patina. I cant find the makers name but on the front the trunk has a Patent number on a brass plaque. I have been told that the trunk could have originated in America and on searching on the internet found a similar trunk for sale but a bit smaller and at a cost of $. This trunk has been scrubbed clean and given a wax polish to the protect patina gained over the years. The inside is as original and has not been touched because it has newspaper from stuck to the bottom and I thought this was interesting, this can be easily removed. For sale is this absolutely incredible 17th/18th century coffer. It's in amazing antique condition with the most beautiful genuine patina. I've cleaned the inside and given the outside a fresh coat of wax giving it a beautiful tactile finish. The condition is extremely good for its age. It has a very small amount of dormant worm holes at the back which are almost un noticeable. All in all its an amazing piece great condition and clean inside.
