A mesh grid incorporated into the front cover lowers the affect that water flow has on the diaphragm, helping to prevent freeflows in strong currents. The Mares Abyss also uses a bypass tube to the mouthpiece that creates a vortex inside the second stage body that draws in the diaphragm during inhalation, providing a lower breathing resistance at all depths. The Mares MV Octopus is a compact, lightweight and sturdy alternate with a side-exhaust design meaning it doesn't matter which way up you use it you will still get the same performance either way. The Mares Mission 2 Gauge is an analog double console with depth and pressure gauges in a rugged rubberised shock-proof mount. Mounting points all over the gauges give you plenty of options where to clip your gauges. Linear colour coded faces are phosphorescent to display information easily even in the dark. A quick flash of a torch will charge the screen so it will glow in the dark so you can read them.
