Mahogany Bookcase Military / Campaign Style, Lovely hand made bookcase which was bespoke made. It has a very warm coloured mahogany veneer. The bookcase is in lovely condition except for one small corner hole in the back above the drawers (pictured in photo 3) this was to feed cables for a tv and telephone which used to rest above the 3 drawers. The unit has been expertly cut into two sections by a carpenter for ease of transportation. (the cut being below the drawer units and is very difficult to see when assembled). This is a large antique pine military campaign chest probably from about the period. It has the original iron handles, and is bound with old metal straps. The inside is fully tin lined, to use the chest probably for waterproof document storage, or to keep food fresh in ice. It is large, measuring 100cm long, by 55cm deep, by 57cm high. It is heavy. The chest is solid, in good condition for its age, with no woodworm. It has the usual knocks, dents and minor repairs you will find with wooden boxes of this age.
