FOR SALE "SUPER LEAD REIN PONY" 8 yr old gelding Heart breaking sale 5 star home only This pony came to us as a three year old having been shown in hand as a youngster. He was professionally broken and schooled and has been ridden by all of my 3 girls at different times. He has had many wins on the L.R including show hunter L.R champion at Kelsall Hill b L.R M+M champion Leek and District show NCPA concours always placed and numerous riding club championships. He narrowly missed out on top ten at Cheshire County . he is winter lead rein dressage champion with pony club. He has fantastic manners on the L.R. He has taken part in all pony club activities rallies, games, polo cross, mini camp, and show jumping. He can go off the lead rein and has done first year first ridden where he has won at riding clubs, however he can be sharp but with an older rider he is a great ride. He has been around farm rides and is excellent on the roads and in traffic. He has been to the beach numerous times. He does crib / windsuck but this has never been an issue. he is good with the blacksmith, clip/trim, bath, and to load. A very handsome Welsh Sec A pony. Approx 11 hh and he is 7 years old. He is a fantastic kind character who loves attention and learns quickly. He is good to catch, shoe, box and clip. He has had been ridden by a very small light teenager and has been off the lead rein but is in experienced at this. On the lead rein he has done work over poles, road work and been hacking across the common. He has been ridden in walk and rising trot. He has in the past done agility and shown. He has fantastic conformation. I am selling this pony as a lead rein pony due to his lack of experience off the lead rein. So........why am I selling him?? He needs more time and attention. Our beloved pony Barney is sadly up for sale after 7 great years. All my children have ridden him from being toddlers and he has been their first pony so this is such a sad sale. He enjoys being worked and will whinny when he sees you bringing tack so it's unfair on him to be left without a job. I am advertising him as a lead rein pony as this is what he prefers in a schooling situation as he can be nappy without his leader in the arena and he much prefers having mum or dad to walk beside or even run in front. He will hack out perfectly off the lead and goes off your voice. He has been ridden around hopton x country off the lead and on the farnley ride and Escrick park. He will jump small jumps and has got a good jump but it's not something he enjoys. He is just ridden now and then at the moment but he is exactly the same ride how ever long he is left. Barney has been involved with all pony club activities including mounted games, mini camp, mini cross country, lessons and jumping with my daughter from being age 5. He has competed on the mini mounted games for 2 seasons on the lead and did wetherby weekend this year off the lead in the junior team and did great. Totally unfazed with a busy environment and does not get silly or excitable, he's very happy to stand on the line and just wait his turn and knows the equipment. When at shows he just stands patiently and nods off. He will ride and lead and is responsive to voice commands which is great for teaching little ones to canter on the lead. A shout of whoa quickly brings him back to walk! We've stayed away at shows and he is happy to be corralled in an pen and will not stress if left on his own, he just enjoys being out and having a job to do. He can be a bit grumpy to handle and will pull the odd face. He will live out with a shelter or come in at night and he is happy with both. He is very clean in the stable and will poo in a bucket at the back! He can be left for weeks and then ridden and he is exactly the same, just steady away.
