11.2 hh 11yo Grey (some of the time) Welsh Section A Gelding - Striker Striker is a cherub. He will happily do the lead rein bit with the wobbly just starting off riders. He will hack up the lanes unfazed by any cars, vans, bikes, tractors coming past, and he will happily stand and wait for traffic to pass. He will go round and round and round a schooling area, walking over poles and weaving around cones. Striker has a sweet little trot and a nice rhythmic canter with the sweetest little pop over a small jump, which he will happily do on the lead or off. He has been across wide open fields and down woodlands and little foresty areas and he's impeccably behaved, standing and waiting for gates to be opened without getting fidgety. He has been put to harness and pulled a little cart before we owned him, however this is not something we have done with him. Striker will happily do the circuits on the lead rein with a 3 year old or step up for a more able jockey, happily carrying 8 stone with a 5'5 rider. Striker has the presence, movement and the look to excel in the show ring, however I wouldn't recommend this as his forte as he also has the hygiene and cleanliness of a wart hog !!! Top Class SHP / WHP or M & M Lead Rein Pony 12 hh

Beautiful, flashy palomino, gelding 12hh, registered section A called Steephill Carruthers. Although only 5 years old, we have had 2 very successful showing seasons with him both in hand & ridden on the lead rein. He has won numerous classes and championships including Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County and Brecon County. Carl always holds his own even against the professionals. We do a range of classes from M & M, section A, palomino, coloured to straight lead rein. We have also had some fun with him winning show jumping and gymkhana. He is a brilliant athletic jumper, so would easily win working hunters too. We have never hunted or hacked him, simply because it doesn't interest us. I am not selling him as a FYFR, because of his age & the need for few more miles on the clock in my opinion, but he does go nicely off the LR & hops into canter on the correct leg, so would suit a competent child off the lead rein, who enjoys competing and winning. Lovely Palomino Reg Welsh B Gelding 11yo Lead Rein

Very sad sale of a lovely pony. Soldier is an 11yo registered Welsh B gelding who was bought as a just off the lead rein pony for my then tiny 6yo daughter. He has the most amazing temperament and sunny personality, always keen to please and first to the gate. Great to handle on the ground by kids, stands happily to be loved and fussed, doesn't bite or kick. Was bought as a fun pony club pony and took my daughter safely round 55cm courses off the lead rein and also my 5yo son (who doesn't really ride) around 40cm courses on the lead rein. Great to hack out, good in traffic, box, clip, catch, shoe (currently barefoot) etc. Sadly Soldier suffered an injury in the field a year ago and although now fully sound (teeth, back, physio, saddle, vets, vaccs all up to date) is now more suitable for lead rein activities. Realistically we bought him to bring my daughter on and to jump 70cm plus and we feel that this is beyond his comfort zone now. He's in light work, sound and healthy, we just want a slower pace of life for him where he can be a child's best friend and bombproof lead rein buddy. Would also suit an in hand showing home as he's a nice mover and a really stunning chap in his summer coat. Lives out at present, happy to live in or out. Good doer and not bossy in the field, happy to be left alone. Loads of pictures and videos available, open to trial and vet. Our beloved pony Barney is sadly up for sale after 7 great years. All my children have ridden him from being toddlers and he has been their first pony so this is such a sad sale. He enjoys being worked and will whinny when he sees you bringing tack so it's unfair on him to be left without a job. I am advertising him as a lead rein pony as this is what he prefers in a schooling situation as he can be nappy without his leader in the arena and he much prefers having mum or dad to walk beside or even run in front. He will hack out perfectly off the lead and goes off your voice. He has been ridden around hopton x country off the lead and on the farnley ride and Escrick park. He will jump small jumps and has got a good jump but it's not something he enjoys. He is just ridden now and then at the moment but he is exactly the same ride how ever long he is left. Barney has been involved with all pony club activities including mounted games, mini camp, mini cross country, lessons and jumping with my daughter from being age 5. He has competed on the mini mounted games for 2 seasons on the lead and did wetherby weekend this year off the lead in the junior team and did great. Totally unfazed with a busy environment and does not get silly or excitable, he's very happy to stand on the line and just wait his turn and knows the equipment. When at shows he just stands patiently and nods off. He will ride and lead and is responsive to voice commands which is great for teaching little ones to canter on the lead. A shout of whoa quickly brings him back to walk! We've stayed away at shows and he is happy to be corralled in an pen and will not stress if left on his own, he just enjoys being out and having a job to do. He can be a bit grumpy to handle and will pull the odd face. He will live out with a shelter or come in at night and he is happy with both. He is very clean in the stable and will poo in a bucket at the back! He can be left for weeks and then ridden and he is exactly the same, just steady away.
