France origin - 1.30 metres high! - depth 39 cm -width 28.5 cm - weight 33.3 kilograms! Antony displayed in brown Franciscan habit and one of his attributes, the lily (symbol of virginity) - the child Jesus depicted as a small adult.Anthony of Padua (Lisbon, 15 August June ), born as Fernando Martins de Bulhões into a rich, noble family, was a friar who was a theologian and a Doctor of the Church - he is regarded as an important holy person -he is the patron saint of the Franciscan order, lost objects, women and children, the poor, bakers, miners, marriage, travellers and lovers and patron against shipwreck, the plague and fever. He is also invoked by Catholics when objects are gone - from as early as the 13th century the holy Anthony of Padua is known for his help in finding lost objects. Antique 19th Century Family Holy Bible

Title: The Holy Bible Publisher: Cassell, Petter and Galpin Date printed: The Publishers were in partnership and active between Edition: Date not printed. The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments with Explanatory Notes, References and a Condensed Concordance. Illustrated with more than nine hundred highly furnished engravings. Usually given as a wedding present, this 19th Century Family Holy Bible has come down through the generations and originally belonged to my Great Grandparents who were married in . The Holy Bible contains the Old Testament and the New King James Bible. It is a hard back piece with possibly its original storage cardboard box. Although the hard covers and storage slip case have been taped up by previous generations, it is all there. Please note that the Register pages for Birth, Marriage and Death have been carefully removed, but the new owner could insert their own during possible restoration. The stitching is still nice and tight and has original ribbon page marker. The Holy Bible does have age related spots. I have had this family piece for a number of years, but I am now offering it for sale as the next generation has no interest in it.
