Large oak Madonna sculpture - Belgium - 18th/19th century

Beautiful and large oak carved Madonna sculpture. It comes from Flanders and is made in a somewhat naive style. The sculpture has a dark brown patina and it is pretty old. We believe it comes from the first half of the 19th century, possibly the 2nd half of the 18th century. The condition is fairly good with various traces of age (see photos). The dimensions are: 48 cm high x 30 cm wide x 23 cm deep After the auction, the sculpture will be packaged with care and shipped but it may also be collected in Barendrecht, near Rotterdam. Exceptionally beautiful solid sandstone sculpture depicting Maria and child. The sculpture has a weathered look that gives an attractive and sought-after look. The work is pretty old. Beautiful oak sculpture of an angel. Finely carved and nicely crafted with a pretty face, long hair and a detailed carved robe/dress. The back has been hollowed out, this was done to prevent cracks in the wood.It dates back to the 17th century and the origin is Belgium/Flanders.Nice soft patina on the wood. Part from a church interior.The sculpture is 78.5 cm high. It is mounted on a round oak pedestal with nice details. This is originally not part of the sculpture and so is a later addition.The total height of the sculpture including the pedestal is 106 cm. The sculpture is mounted loose on the pedestal with a heavy iron pen with screw thread. The carving can easily be unscrewed and detached from the pedestal and suspended, if one so wishes.
