Jentique Bureau...

Jentique Bureau, Oldish bureau.... the usual dark brown that comes with pieces of furniture from that time! Bought as family desk to house countless reims of paper and all the shananigans that behold modern day letter writting.... What? Everyone uses computers to word process! True...... but what do they do with all the envelopes and stamps and address books? (odd bits of paper and backs of used envelopes or anything you happened to have to write on!) All those bits of "Where does this go"? stuff. Piles of letters that you opened and are getting around to answering (By word processing) but are still in the envelope and waiting priority... or the stuff you can't face... or the stuff you didn't need but is official and does really need doing!!!When the family visit, where are you going to bung all those bit of things and make the room look neat and quaint in one instand swoop of tidying?... IN the bureau. When closed it looks lovely, antique (well it is a Jentique) old fashioned, homely, we use it for it's purpose furniture.It has been to several houses and we have in deed used it for all the above and more! It has scratches, it has no key (Do any old bits this cheap have a key?) it hasn't had polish on it (God forbid using spray polish on the furniture, think of all those c.f.c's and the patina) It's just an old bit of furniture we loved and have grown apart from. A massive lack of space may have someting to do with that!It is a fashioned bit of old wood. It has a floral design on the front... chunky feet and door knobs...it is wooden all the way round, (no flat pack) cute space for pigeonholing stuff in the top and a sweet draw we kept the stamps in!Not wanting to sell, but having to, we've put it in The Friday Add to give it a chance to be seen by plenty.... Our little old bureau, one of the first pieces of furniture we bought together as a couple in an actual antique shop, in our first home, through to the current one we live in....Like Bag Puss.....
