ANTIQUE BENTWOOD TABLE - RARELY AVAILABLE

We are really lucky to be able to offer for sale this rarely available and much sought after antique Bentwood table. It would look superb in any retro, vintage, shabby chic or industrial type interior. We often refurbish and sell Bentwood chairs but we rarely have the opportunity to deal with tables such as this one. Designed by Michael Thonet, who was a German-Austrian cabinet maker who started experimenting with Bentwood designs in the s. His design success came from the fact that he produced light, strong wood bent into carved, graceful shapes by forming the wood in hot steam. This enabled him to design entirely novel, elegant, lightweight, durable and comfortable furniture which appeals strongly to fashion - a complete departure from the heavy, carved designs of the past and whose aesthetic and functional appeal even remains today. All these lovely features are aptly found in this table. Dimensions are as follows: Table top diameter 77cm Height 73cm Overall, this table is in lovely vintage condition and we are regularly caring for it so its condition is vastly improving with every polish! As with any vintage furniture, it shows signs of use but this is due to its age and intended use. The top has some scratches, scuffs and chips. All of our items are cleaned, oiled and polished, ready for immediate use in your home. We also bubble wrap all of items for delivery, which minimises the risk of damage in transit. Our delivery cost is based on the Parcel Force express 48 service (this can be upgraded at your request) but viewing and collection from CO9 can be arranged by appointment. This table due to its dimensions would have to sent under the Parcel Force large service hence its postage costs.
