I purchased this in the late 70's from a local craftsman. Made from Somerset wych elm this is a heavy table with dowelled legs & wooden brackets securing the top. It is hand signed underneath & I have the original receipts. Size 60" x 29" Top is over 1" thick The four matching ladder back chairs were purchased at the same time and are from the same maker and in the same wood! The pictures are a good representation of the deep rich honey colour. In super condition with only a few marks that add to it's character this is a unique piece of furniture that will last forever unlike todays mass produced items. Reluctant sale. This is a really beautiful, solid family dining table. It's lived through family life and has a few battle scars on the surface to prove it but they're superficial and could be removed with a little work. The chairs are also beautiful - six with no arms and two with arms. They've got lovely French wicker seats that are in great condition. We've always had chair pads on them so they've been protected.
