Offered for sale is our lovely Victorian Solid Oak Carved Longcase 8 day Hall Clock, Which We Have Owned For Many Years. The Case Is Very Heavy, Being Made of Solid Oak Which Has Been Ebonised and Carved To Front of Case at time of Manufacture. Unusually The Hood Slides Upwards, But There Are Side Panels To The Hood To Access Rear of Movement. The Movement Itself is of 8 Day Duration and Has Some of The Thickest Plates I have Ever Seen on a Longcase Clock, There is an A Stamped on Both Great Wheels, (Atkins & Co London ?) The Clock Chimes The Hours on a Gong. The Movement is Original To The Case The Dial Is Brass With Spandrels and Has Lovely Silvered Chapter Ring. Here we have for sale a early 18th century thirty hour longcase clock made by Thomas beeching of Ashburnham the oak case stands at 84in high. It has a blind fret frieze above the glazed door. The thin wast door has a inlaid star motif. the movement is a excellent example of a birdcage movement of 30h duration and still retains it's rope drive it has a anchor escarpment and a count wheel strike. Antique Longcase Clock, This wonderful 19th century longcase grandfather clock has a lovely mahogany case, The hood has a swan neck pediment with quality carved rosettes the door has a lining of satinwood with well turned and reeded columns either side, enclosed is a painted arch dial with date and seconds dial the eight day movement strikes the hour on a bell and has been serviced, Under you have the trunk door which is cross banded with mahogany with carved and reeded either side these match the hood ones, The base also has a cross banded edge with centre panel all supported by fretted carved feet, Circa Height " Width " Depth "

Hear we have a mid Victorian 8day longcase clock made by tho Esther of morpeth it is in good working order keeping time to within a minute or so a week. the clock strikes on the hour on a bell It stands at a impressive 7f4 although can be made a bit smaller by removing the fretting and ball and Engels.
