A beautiful Hofner President from ,the face has numerous dinks and marks hence Road Worn. The Headstock carries the original,elegant,Tuners and the Hofner logo. The Neck is straight,the frets are worn in but not worn out. The fretboard is in good condition with a low action. A Vintage, Hofner,Pickup,Volume and Tone controls have been added. The adjustable Bridge,scratchguard and Tailpiece are original also. The acoustic voice is mellow,sounds great through an amplifier where the archtop lends resonance to the tone. As new- Hofner bass - This is the Stu Sutcliffe Tribute version with close spaced original Hofner 'Black Bar' pick-ups.- It is a lovely bass that I bought new, but I just do not play. I wanted to practice watching telly, but it is just too nice to use so casually. You can play it acoustically but of course it is at its best plugged in with the classic Hofner sound! This comes complete with the fitted Hofner Hard Case (with key) and the tags truss rod tool etc. These seem to retail for £659 - without the case on that website so this will be a bargain for somebody. The electrics are all working just as they should, with no crackling or buzzing, remarkable! The strap buttons have been replaced with Schaller locking versions, the bridge has been replaced with a period, gold plated ‘damper’ version.
