Highland Pony Mare

For Sale. It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this advert. Brook (Erray Burdock) is 5 years old, 14hh and I have owned her for 2 years. I bought her as an unhandled 3 year old direct from Erray Highland Ponies. Brook has been very much my baby, being the first pony I have brought on from scratch and her wonderful temperament has made it a very easy process. Brook is a very easy, straight forward pony, she turns out with mares or geldings and doesn’t mind being left on her own, she will happily be stabled if needs be and is not at all mareish. She is a lovely, gentle girl who is easy to catch, good with the farrier and vet, to bath, load and travel but she has never been clipped. Brook was backed in spring and spent the year hacking out from home, mainly on her own. She has also been out to several clinics and lessons and been in group lessons indoors & out. She has also trailered out to meet others for hacks and recently qualified for Blair Novice Ridden. She is very easy to take to shows and has had lovely positive comments from judges. Brook is good with lighter traffic when on her own but needs the reassurance of another horse with her to cope with heavy traffic. She is used to quads and tractors but to hack any distance I have to go on busy roads which is the only reason I am parting with her as I don’t have anyone to ride with & I have an older pony who is great in any traffic. In company she has been through villages and also over a level crossing when the barriers came down and she didn’t bat an eyelid. She is a responsive ride but not strong or overly forward going, she has never bucked, reared or done anything under saddle to worry me at all and I am not the most confident. Brook has never been sick or sorry and has no sign of sweet itch. Due to her age she is still green in the school but is a lovely, quiet and genuine pony. She has lovely, free movement and is straight and correct. Brook is extremely special to me and will only go to the right home, this is an extremely hard decision, genuine easy ponies like her do not come along often. Friesian mare, cob mare and spotted stallion

Due to family bereavement we are selling 2 broodmares and stallion, can sell together or will separate. Freya - born imported 14.2hh Friesian (basic passport no breeding recorded) Has done a lot of schooling and in hand showing in the past and is a forward strong ride. Works in a natural outline and has a nice jump, however does weave in the stable and trailer so prefers to live out and doesn't enjoy travelling. Has bred us 4 lovely foals. She is pigeon toed but has no affect on her and is too late to try and correct. Never lame, sick or sorry. Quiet and easy to handle, good in all ways. Gets ridden bareback from field to field to move them. Gabby - born 15hh draught x Appaloosa heavyweight mare but no feather (basic passport no breeding). Bomb proof ride and can be ridden by anyone when in company but will nap leaving the yard and is not suitable for schooling. Gave us a big strong hunter type colt this year. Can be handled by anyone but does need food to be caught. Very genuine and sweet, lives out unrugged and very good doer. Gets ridden bareback from field to field to move them and we lead the stallion off her. Casper - 15.2hh imported spotted stallion (basic passport with no breeding) licensed with British spotted pony society as a spotted sports horse. Tested ee/aa LP/LP n/PATTN1 Manners to burn, so quiet and gentle. Always runs with his mares and foals. Bought as a 4 year old and never tried to back him.
