HERMANN & SPUR THIGHED HATCHLINGS

I have kept and bred both Hermanns & Spur Thighed tortoises for over 37 years.These 2 breeds are the hardiest and were the first to be brought into this country in the late 50's early 60's.I now have hatchlings ready to go. You will be invited to visit, see all the girls and boys and eggs in the incubators. You will go away with a list of items required. My hatchlings are brought up in an open unit NO vivarium's. The baby can go into the garden from day one during the Summer and will go out full time year 2/3 and hibernate thereafter.You are bringing up an English tortoise as it is bred here so going into the garden from an early age will harden it off to our climate. Tunisian spur thighed tortoise

Adult Uk Cb proven Testudo graeca nabeulensis (Tunisian spurthighed) male. Fully grown measuring around 12cms. Non hibernating species so does need to be kept warm and dry over winter. This little chap is use to spending summer outside in a secure stony enclosure with hot box and edible plants and being brought in at night, Spending cooler/wet and winter days in a large indoor enclosure with uv/heat lamp. He needs to be housed alone due to being quite a tyrant to females but also this species are sensitive to alien pathogens from other tortoises so must NOT be mixed with other species. Ideal species for those looking not to hibernate or wanting a large species. He has been fed on a natural diet of plants and vit supplements. Cute little chap only selling due to work commitments.
