Following a study of Politics, he became head of the press department of the Berlin school of politics. He had already had a career as a journalist and an insurance broker. During the invasion of Poland in , Von Monts became head of the Press Department in the German Army in the rank of Gunner. After his wife passed away, he was discharged from active service. However, he remained involved in, among others, the General Government of Krakow as a spokesperson for the German troops. The Nazi leadership considered him to be indispensable in the propaganda war and he was entitled to wear the SS uniform in the rank of first lieutenant. From through , he was granted a job in the Ministry of Propaganda.He used his acquired position for his own enrichment, he took possession of rare goods (including record-players and spirits), which were intended for the troops. This lucrative trade allowed him to enjoy a luxurious lifestyle with expensive limousines and prostitutes. Diese Marker erlauben es Sprechern, trotz der Begrenztheit des Inventars sprachlicher Ausdrücke mit der unendlichen Komplexität und Menge von Konzepten der menschlichen Erfahrungswelt umzugehen, indem sie die konventionellen Verwendungsbedingungen von lexikalischen Einheiten oder Zahlwörtern lockern. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, die Semantik, Pragmatik und Syntax der wichtigsten Approximationsmarker der vier romanischen Sprachen Französisch, Italienisch, Portugiesisch und Spanisch systematisch und vergleichend auf der Basis von Korpusdaten, insbesondere des viersprachigen Korpus gesprochener Sprache C-ORAL-ROM, zu untersuchen. Ergänzt wird diese Datengrundlage durch Korpora der geschriebenen Sprache, auch älterer Sprachstufen. Dieser Ansatz erlaubt es, sowohl übereinzelsprachliche romanische als auch sprachspezifische Entwicklungen von Approximationsmarkern festzustellen und liefert damit auch einen Beitrag zur Grammatikalisierungs- bzw. Pragmatikalisierungsforschung. Neben sprachinternen Prozessen der Pragmatikalisierung beeinflussen jedoch auch Normierungstendenzen sowie Sprachkontakte die Entwicklung mancher Approximationsmarker. Die synchrone und diachrone Analyse lässt außerdem die Verbindungen und Abgrenzungen zu verwandten Funktionen wie der pragmatischen Abschwächung und anderen Verfahren vagen Sprechens sowie Subklassen der Approximationsverfahren sichtbar werden.
