These beautiful, hand-carved, hardwood African chair were bought when we travelled through Africa in the s. Hand carved in Tanzania, we used them throughout our travels for over a year, and have used them both inside and out every since in the UK. They consist of one piece of wood which is the leg and the seat - this fits through a slot in the bigger, carved piece which forms the back. They are INCREDIBLY comfortable, sturdy yet highly portable. We often take them to the beach for BBQs and they are always good for extra chairs at parties, If you don't want to use them all through the year, you can take them apart and store away. West African hand carved hardwood seated male figure. 16" high. Heavy hard wood, nice colour. A hand carved figure of a man with his hand on his chin from West Africa. Overall height 16 inches. I don't know what the wood is but it's a heavy hard wood. It has a very nice colour, and seems to have some age to it. Some signs of wear, probably from polishing. Collection from Nonington CT15 4HY

West African hand carved hardwood stand. 16" high-11" diameter. Heavy hard wood, nice colour. A hand carved stand from West Africa. Overall height 16 inches. Carved in three pieces, to round pieces 11 inches in diameter and the contorted figure of a man, and then fixed with iron nails. I don't know what the wood is but it's a heavy hard wood. It has a very nice colour, and seems to have some age to it. Some signs of wear, probably from polishing. Collection from Nonington CT15 4HY
