Beautiful abrash, i.e. colour nuances, as the wool was made in small quantities, handmade, so the colours vary slightly. The main edge varies from blue to sea green/blue. Flanked by two edges with botehs. The edges are a little frayed, maybe give them new buttonhole stitching (wrap them with wool thread). You can easily do this yourself. Details about   Stunning handcrafted western saddle Circa

This stunning western saddle was hand crafted in the mid 's in Sacramento in California.  It was made by George and Carole Ward whose stamp is proudly displayed on the back of the saddle.  It is beautifully hand tooled in the "Old Rose' pattern in a rich mahogany colour with lighter coloured seat and is tastefully decorated throughout with Montana silver.  It boasts early Blevin Buckles which are marked 'patent pending' and t he fenders are split height and restricted.   Originally crafted for "Mary McCready" her name can be read on a now faintly engraved silver plate on the rear of the saddle.   It should be noted the saddle is of a substantial weight.  This much loved saddle has been used until recently and is sadly being sold due to my horse having being injured.  Its sale provides a rare opportunity to purchase a piece of American history either just as a thing of beauty or as a very comfortable saddle!!
