Hand-knotted carpet from around . This Hamadan has a classic herati pattern on a salmon red panel. Hand-knotted carpet, more than 60 to 70 years old, natural, plant-based dyes. Beautiful abrash, i.e. colour nuances, as the wool was made in small quantities, handmade, so the colours vary slightly. The main edge varies from blue to sea green/blue. Flanked by two edges with botehs. The edges are a little frayed, maybe give them new buttonhole stitching (wrap them with wool thread). You can easily do this yourself. This pattern is characteristic of the Afshar nomads living near Kerman. Beautiful, used condition, worn through to the weft threads in places. Soft brick red and fresh light blue. With four corner ornaments and a central, step-shaped medallion with indigo blue. Indigo is a plant.Natural, plant-based dyes. The vases with flowers at the top and bottom are characteristic of these carpets. The dark brown coloured, wool pile is very short, almost worn out, because of the iron chloride that is naturally present in the plant-based dye.
