The sophisticated Dimming thermostat is designed specifically for controlling light bulbs. The Dimming thermostat is one of the most accurate methods of temperature control and whilst it is perfect for controlling light bulbs, it can be used on almost any heaters. Unlike other Habistat thermostats, it does require a minimum load of 40 watts, but has a maximum capacity of 600 watts at 230 volts. This is the only thermostat we recommend for use with incandescent light bulbs. It uses the latest technology and operates in a manner similar to the Pulse proportional thermostat. Instead of pulses of power being supplied to the heater, it is supplied with a continuous variable supply of power or voltage. Hi there, Up for sale is a Habistat Thermostat, the dimming one (used for incandescent bulbs, heat mats and ceramic heat emitters). I used this for a couple of months before moving home and now it's unwanted as i have just one Royal python now with his 'stat and set up. these hit around £60 brand new in shops. Its not the high range one and the dial goes up to 32C (92F) everything works as it should and even if it doesn't there's a 5 year warranty on it (The company is EuroRep) and they'll sort it out. The Sun Switch is a light activated mains electricity switch. When the Sun Switch is in the light, the power will be switched on and when it is in the dark, the power will be switched off. The difference between the on and off levels has been adjusted so that the unit does not flicker at the triggering point nor will it switch on and off due to minor variations in brightness. Essentially, the unit detects day and night and can therefore switch things on that are required during daylight hours. The range of items that can be switched is only limited by a maximum load of 600 watts and the imagination.
