Grant Les Paul Copy (MIJ Lawsuit Era) + 4-Lock Case

A Les Paul Copy made in Japan and sold by a company named 'Grant Guitars' in Scotland in the 's. The black finish is gorgeous and classic, and the guitar features a lovely example of a rare cream 'double binding'. The guitar is in good, working condition, with a few minor blemishes on the binding and some dirt on the bridge, tailpiece and pickups. The Jack-plate is a little temperamental but works. The strings are relatively old and should be replaced, but this is a small, inexpensive endeavour -- One that i'm sure any guitarist is familiar with. Included is a great quality, 4-Lock Hard Case, with a cushioned interior, storage compartment for your accessories and a security key. This guitar makes for an excellent collectors item, display piece or practice instrument. For those planning on taking it gigging, I would recommend replacing the jack assembly, as it is 50 years old and not likely to withstand rough treatment. Read More

Takamine F-360S solid top MIJ dreadnought guitar copy of Martin D-28 lawsuit

Vintage 40 year old MIJ Takamine built as a copy of D-28 including M type headstock. Light and sturdy. Sounds beautiful, very balanced with good highs and lows as you expect from matured wood. It survived in a good condition with no significant wear to frets or fretboard. One thing to mention is that Lacquer cracked at top's centre seam as typical for old solid top guitars. It's an old feature of the guitar and does not affect it in any way. Good action around 2.5mm at 12 fret. Other F360s are listed around mark so I'm listing it cheap taking into consideration it's not a museum condition:) No case. Will be safely packed in the box. Les Paul Special DC 's MIJ COPY

This is a 's "lawsuit era" copy of a Gibson Les Paul Special double cut. When I got it a few years ago, it had already lost its headstock logo, and despite making enquiries to people knowledgeable about Japanese copies of this era, I haven't been able to find a match - I don't think it's an Arbiter. But it's a great copy of a great guitar. When I got the guitar, it was in a bit of a state, so I upgraded the pickups to GFS Alnico Vintage soapbars and swapped in an adjustable wraparound bridge. The luthier also reset the fretboard, which had lifted a little. I didn't do any cosmetic work on the body, which has quite a few dings and scrapes, though the luthier sanded and finished a scrape on the back of the neck to stop it from affecting playability. As a result, the guitar plays and sounds great, but if you are looking for something pristine, this definitely isn't for you. It's a 40+ year old vintage guitar, and it had obviously taken a few knocks before I got hold of it. Sadly, it now has the opposite problem - it's just not getting played enough, so rather than have it sit there gathering dust and making me feel guilty, I've decided to sell it. Come and try it out. Ibanez Roadstar Strat s - genuine MIJ lawsuit guitar.

Ibanez RS240 Roadstar s made in Japan, in fantastic ungigged condition. This is one of the guitars that Ibanez built its reputation on, one of the notorious lawsuit guitars of the s. For those of you that don't know, most USA manufacturers relaxed their quality control and upped their production in the s resulting in a glut of poor quality instruments. A small number of Japanese manufacturers, notably Ibanez and Tokai, started knocking out clone guitars that were actually better than the originals. This is one of them. It's a pretty straightforward Strat copy, two single coils and a himbucker on the bridge. The bridge is a floating spring trem style, and doesn't have the arm, so you'll need to get one or tighten up the springs to stop it moving around. It's reliable and holds its tune when it's strung and set up properly. Closed Fender style tuners, v shaped strapholders, I'll chuck in a set of strings, very quiet when it's plugged in. It's better made and just sits nicer in the hand than current Ibanez, Pacifica, or Squier strats, mostly because it's been in light use for thirty years; if it was matchwood it would have disintegrated by now. It would suit a beginner fine if you hardtailed the trem, or an upgrade for someone who wanted a backup, or someone who fancies a protect changing the bridge and playing with setups. A Beautiful guitar made in the ‘Golden Era’ of the early ’s from high quality ‘old growth’ woods and constructed by highly skilled Japanese Luthiers at the famous Fujigen Plant, (not to be confused with later cheap quality mass-produced Burnys). Vintage Burny Les Pauls were made to such a high standard, they were seen by many as being as good or better than Gibson Les Pauls and so GIBSON USA enforced their Guitar Patents (hence “Lawsuit Guitars”) and restricted their sale to within Japan. Vintage ‘feel’ and over 30 years resonance. Fantastic tone and sustain from being constructed with Vintage resonant “Old Growth” woods. Playing made effortlessly comfortable by Fret Edge Binding (as only found on top-end very expensive guitars). 4. Fabulous electrics with Original highly rated Burny L Vintage PAF Pickups, plus 500k Potentiometers and Paper-in-Oil Capacitors. These guitars only increase their value. Tokai Les Paul Gold Top, MiJ BRILLIANT quality, upgrades

I am really sad about selling this one! A beautiful guitar that I have owned for about 7 years. It is in VGC, and plays like a dream, and sounds like a weeping angel! I upgraded the pick ups to Amalfitano Texas boutique PAF's, with aged covers and wired out of phase like Peter Green/Gary Moore. The tones are beautiful - clean and defined, never shrill or harsh. Real depth and tone to them, and they cost £300 as a special order on their own! I will include the original pick ups in case you want to put them back on, along with the original cream fittings. (I just think black looks sexier on a Gold Top!) The current equivelant Tokai is the LS95, so this really is a bargain. I jsut have too many guitars sat in storage not being used, so I am trying to be brave and sell some of them. This one is one I will really, really miss. If you're interested, get in quick, as I might change my mind! (Youtube clip is of me at an open mic night, trying out after a year or so, & LOVING it!)
