Meet Lucy ! Lucy is a shy girl who came to us in a very sorry state, she,d been abused and badly neglected and we were her last hope. We,v had Lucy a couple of months now and really bought her out of her shell, she can initially come across as timid but once you get to know her she's a lovely girl. We would keep Lucy but I'm afraid we only keep working dogs, we took Lucy on as we could see how very scared and in need of love she was. We,v tried to do some training with her to prepare her for a working world however I think the abuse has ruined her, and she cannot be trained for working so we are looking at placing her in a home. The ideal candidate would have older children or no children as Lucy tends to like a lot of the attention and if the house is too busy she doesn't like it, Lucy needs a quiet life with very patient owners who are going to give her the time she needs to grow and flourish. Please be warned just because you have responded to this add it doesn't mean we will allow you to have Lucy as we will be picking her owners very carefully as she's had a tough enough start as it is. It has taken a lot of careful consideration but we need to rehome our dog. Since relocating to Devon my husband has a new job where he is away for weeks at a time with only a few days between at home. I am working long hours and looking after three children the majority of the time single handedly and our poor dog is being left at home all day long. She needs to be with a family who can walk her at least once a day, and not be out of the house for hours at a time. She is very good when left and can be completely trusted with the run of the house but I just do not think it is fair on her. She has been brought up with 3 children my youngest was 2 when we got her and she is as good as gold. She is very sociable and loves other dogs, she also is fine with cats.
