Vintage Waterhouse's of Leeds Glass Sweet Jar
This vintage sweet jar originally held chocolate eclairs, made by Waterhouse's of Elland Road, Leeds, a company famous for its 'invalid toffee', so-called (I understand) because it was a favourite with those who were ill/in hospital. This jar probably dates from the s (it cannot be earlier, because the sweets are priced in decimal currency) or early s. The labels are intact, and there are no chips to the glass. It stands 30.5cm high, and weighs 1.8kg. This item can be collected from Huddersfield, or mailed for £4.95. Payment is by cash, or PayPal, if mailed. Read more
