Join Visage Paranormal for an overnight ghost hunt at The Village, Mansfield. ?The Village? is a grade I listed building which began life as a slaughterhouse in . Before the 19th century a barn once stood on the site which was allegedly used by the monks from the nearby St. Peter?s church as a hiding place during the times of persecution. It is said that the barn was burnt to the ground, with several monks still inside. They are said to have perished in the flames. The slaughter house was eventually converted into a malt house in the ?s which used child labour. The disembodied sounds of the children are said to have been heard in many of the rooms here. It lay abandonded for many years and is a very sinister building with a very sinister atmosphere. The figure of a gentleman has been seen on numerous occasions, could this be the spirit of Mr Merryweather, the owner of the malthouse? Other sightings include a woman who is said to have drowned in the river which runs underneath the building and there have been sightings of children also. We have access to all areas the general public wouldn?t usually have access to including the old bar and the lower floors. Become a ghost hunter for the evening and attempt to contact the spirits that still reside in this place. Take part in various experiments including victorian seances and table tipping. Feel free to use all of our equipment throughout the night in your search for the spirits.
