Beautiful Georgian solid mahogany bureau circa with fitted interior.

This is a beautiful restored mahogany bureau from late 18th century. It is solid mahogany throughout! Thus very heavy. There is restoration and it clearly shows signs of being over two hundred years old but this all enhances the character whilst not affecting the function. It measures 910 wide x high and 540 deep at the deepest point. The fold down lid is fully lockable with original lock and key. All the brassware is original. Oak Bureau/Secretaire

Really gorgeous piece that I have owned for over 40 years but have reluctantly decided to sell following a recent house move as it no longer fits in my new home. I have used it to as a bookcase and desk in the past but for the past several years I have used it to show crystalware. It splits into two sections for ease of transport - the lower leg section is separate from the top. The doors to the top are in the original leaded glass and there are four shelves inside. The middle section folds out as a desk and inside are lots of compartments and drawers that holds masses. Below this section are three large drawers. The wood has a gorgeous patina - it is a beautiful piece that looks wonderful in any room setting. A very reluctant sale. In excellent condition.
