A beautiful and large antique mantle or sideboard clock. Measures approximately 19 inches tall. In Belgian Slate with decorative brass appliques. The slate in excellent condition with just a few nibbles hardly noticeable. Nice verdigree patina on the brass. Has a good French movement with the very desirable visible escapement. Strikes the hour and the half hour on a coil and keeps good time. Would enhance any good room and be a nice heirloom. Lovely antique French mantle clock

This is a Japy Frere eight day solid oak clock that dates from circa in very good condition. It is eight inches wide, three and a half inches deep, and five and a half inches high, has a deep reddish colour. The silvered dial has black painted arabic numerals with black hands and has the very high quality movement Japy Frere was renowned for. There is a small circular brass plate at the back covering the winder. This is in a wonderful condition with a nice beaded edge, the only fault is that a small piece of the moulding is missing to the front right hand side but is not noticeable to detract from it's appearance. Rare, Stunning shapely Victorian slate mantle clock with Bell chimes. The movement is by French clock maker PR movement no. . This has brass dial and visible escapement. The dial has bevelled glass opening door The bell chimes once at each half -hour and strikes each hour according to the time. The beautiful style of this clock has a rounded drum top then beautiful shapely curved sides. The front has shaped Bevelled glass so that the unusual Ellicott pendulum can be seen working and at the back has same shaped slate door to access the pendulum plus a decorative metal door at top back to access the movement. This clock comes complete with winding key and unusual Ellicott pendulum. Clock keeps good time and is in Good working order. I have for sale an elegant Victorian black slate and red mottled marble mantle clock, having bell chime movement. The Clock strikes on a little bell once on each half hour and on the hour it chimes according to the time. On the French movement are markings GR inside an oval shape and impressed stamp marked with AD Mougin And five-pointed star. I have added pictures of the movement with and without the steel bell attached. Clock has been recently serviced and is keeping good time. The dial is clear and has decorative hands. There is opening front glazed bezel allowing access to winding holes. At the back there is also an opening door to gain access to pendulum and bell chime movement. Clock will be supplied with a winding key and will run for more than a week on a full wind. Approximate Dimensions - 29cms tall x 24 cms wide x 14 cms depth.
