French 3 / 4 Compagnon II Violin made in the workshops of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy in France in the early s. Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy & Cie, abbreviated as "J.T.L.", was a French musical instrument making company, formed in the mid-19th century from the merger of pre-existing makers. It was based in Mirecourt, France, and produced woodwind, brass and stringed instruments until the mid-20th century. The Compagnon II Violin is listed on page 12 of the Catalogue of Jerome Thibouville-Lamy (see photo). The instrument is playable, though needs tuning, and would benefit from some attention to its general condition, and in acknowledgement of this is being offered at a reduced price of £300 ono.
