This is Ronnie, he's a Chestnut gelding, he was 10yrs old in April. Ronnie is a very easy going, he loves a fuss, and is very friendly. He hacks in company and alone, he's good with farrier, loading and traveling. I have spent May, June and July laid up in bed with 4 slipped discs, I am riding again, but whilst using a mount I can get on my 14:2h mare but I can't get my leg up anywhere near enough to get on Ronnie. I'm not very good with a leg up as I've never got on this way, I only bought Ronnie in March, as he'd been out of work for a few months, I've had Mr Peter Daynes riding him and getting him used to different people riding him. (Pete used to train the police horses when they had the stables near The Park Hospital and The Burnt Stump Pub), 2 or 3 of my friends have ridden him, but he spends most days in the field, he wintered out last year with a 300 rug. Ronnie deserves to be somewhere where he can be groomed/ridden every/most days, so please no time wasters as it's taken me over a month to pluck up courage to write this ad. It is with great regret that I find myself having to rehome my lovely chestnut gelding.He has previously evented and done dressage including teams etc. We have just found an old injury which prevents him from ever jumping again, although he is fine to hack and do low level dressage and schoolong. 10 year old TB 16'2 TB Gelding

10 year old 16'2 TB Gelding. We have owned Felix for just over a year and have come to the conclusion that he needs a home that has more time for him. He has come a long way since we brought him but needs more work and we just don't have the time. He schools beautifully the way he carries himself is delightful he has three lovely paces and has a lovely fluid movement, I could imagine him doing a very nice dressage test. We have never taken him out competing and apart from popping him over a little jump in our school he hasn't done any jumping since we have owned him so can't really comment on his jumping ability. We are definitely what you would call a happy hacking home so haven’t taken him to shows. He is best when ridden frequently although last weekend we rode for the first time in 3 months and hacked on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday he was excited and it took longer than usual to tack him up and as soon as my husbands bottom was in the saddle he was jogging up the road! He jogged around and was generally very excitable so we only did road work. On the Sunday he was like a totally different horse, stood quietly to be tacked up, easy to mount and was cool as a cucumber so we went out for a good 2 hours and had 3 canters and a gallop. It was very pleasant hack. My husband and I mainly hack together which Felix does prefer but he has hacked alone and if he did it more I am sure he would settle much more quickly. We hack down fairly busy roads and he is fine, he does very occasionally do excited little bucks, not in nasty 'I am going to throw you off way' just I am excited and I want to go. Where he needs the most work still is on the ground he has a nervous disposition and will need a patient owner who has time to gain his trust. He isn’t at all nasty and does have stable manners he just gets nervous. We clipped him this weekend and we do it in stages so it takes 2 days rather than a few hours. He will stand to be groomed for 20 minutes and then gets fidgety, he takes longer than you average horse to tack up, nothing at all nasty he just has trust issues. He loads fine in either a box or trailer but doesn't like travelling alone, we tend to load him last and then out first to try and keep his mood as calm as possible. He can't be left in a field by himself or left on the yard by himself. He is good for the farrier and has never been lame or had any health problems. Up to date with jabs.
