Flute
Beautifully hand made flute in key of Gm. Description Our Le Mita Cola gives you that lower, pleasing tone at a very good value. The finger spread spacing is a comfortable 5-1/2" center-to-center, top to bottom finger hole. G minor is the most versatile key, in that it’s a relative major Bb, similar to horns in an orchestral setting. These flutes are built using a superior one piece construction method. This gives you a more solid flute without any delamination concerns which some two-piece flutes face. Drilling is also very accurate in as much as I can bore down the center of the flute +/-.002", or ½ the thickness of a $1 bill. Drilling also makes for a prettier flute without the glue lines. Our flutes have a 6 hole, extended range tuning. This is sometimes called a Mode 1-Mode 4 tuning. They have a total of 15 notes, covering an octave plus a minor third. They also cover a 12 tone chromatic octave within the 15 note scale. This is the standard tuning used by most flute makers. A finger chart is included with your new flute, showing exactly how to achieve each of the 15 notes. Our flutes have a hand-rubbed finish that includes four hand sandings, four coats of finish (inside and out) and a final steel wool rub. This process takes over four weeks. You’ll feel and see the difference our finishing effort makes. Our basic flutes can be discounted in a quantity of 10+ for schools, flute circles, churches, scouting groups and other instructional use. Please inquire for further information on teaching discounts. Le Mita Cola is not offered in other wood options, only eastern red cedar. For other woods, please see our G minor concert quality flute.
